Hull Fair is Europe's largest travelling funfair, held annually on Walton Street in Kingston upon Hull every October. Over 250 rides, 800 stalls and entertainment spread across a massive site.

Hull Fair has been running for over 700 years, making it one of the world's oldest fairs. It was originally a trading fair in the Middle Ages. Today it attracts around a million visitors over its 8-day run, making it the most attended event in the north of England.

Tips for Visiting Hull Fair

• Visit Tuesday or Wednesday evening for shorter queues
• After 6pm for the full lights experience
• Park at Costco or the ice arena — Walton Street itself gets extremely congested
• Cash still king at most rides, though cards increasingly accepted
• Wristbands available for unlimited rides on participating rides
