Hull Fair is a genuinely jaw-dropping event. Held every October on Walton Street in Kingston upon Hull, it's the largest travelling funfair in Europe — over 250 rides, 800 stalls, and around a million visitors over its 8-day run.
If you're from the East of England and haven't been, put it on the list immediately.
Hull Fair 2026 Dates
Hull Fair typically runs for 8 days in October, starting the first Friday after October 10th. Based on 2026's calendar, the expected dates are:
Friday 9 October to Saturday 17 October 2026
(Official dates will be confirmed by Hull City Council — always check before travelling)
What to expect
The scale is hard to describe to anyone who hasn't been. The biggest rides — waltzers, thrill rides, giant drops — run by the most famous fairground families in the UK. The smell of hot dogs, candyfloss and toffee apples is overwhelming in the best possible way.
Hull Fair wristbands — are they worth it?
Wristbands allow unlimited rides on participating rides for a set period (usually 4 or 6 hours). Adult wristbands cost around £25, child wristbands around £18.
For families planning to ride multiple times, they're excellent value. Single ride prices can be £3-5 per go.
Family Adventure Pass discount at Hull Fair
Family Adventure Pass members get exclusive discount codes for Hull Fair wristbands — saving around £6 per person. For a family of four, that's £24 off, which nearly covers a month's pass cost.
Tips for visiting
- Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening — far less busy than weekends - Arrive after 6pm for the full lights experience - Wear comfortable shoes — the site is huge - Cash is still king at most rides and stalls, though cards are increasingly accepted - Park at Costco or the ice arena and walk — the Walton Street area gets extremely congested
Hull Fair is one of Britain's great annual traditions. Don't miss it.
